2023/ 2024 Ski season
The volunteer patrol is getting ready for the 2023/2024 season through refresher training and enlisting new volunteers. If you are a skier or snowboarder, looking for a way to give back to the sport that you love (and you can spare 200+ hours for medical training and 16 weekend days during the season helping people on the mountain), then contact the Mission Ridge Volunteer Ski Patrol to learn how to apply to join our ranks.
helping those in need"Knowing that I can play an active role in getting an injured guest to the next level of care quickly & safely is an incredible feeling." -- Ted Edwards, Weekend Leader (Red Weekend) |
self-improvement "Pushing ourselves in training not only helps us improve our skills, it makes sure we're ready when the call comes." --- Andrew Scott, Weekend Leader (Blue Weekend) |
enjoying the mountain"Sharing time with an incredible group of people on dry powder, with 300 sunny days a year, no lift lines, and endless turns... it doesn't get much better." -- Tom Arnold, Volunteer |
People join the National Ski Patrol for a variety of reasons. The common thread is that they all want to make a difference and give back to the sport that they love.
OUR GOAL
Public safety is the highest priority
not only for the patrol but for
everyone at Mission Ridge.
not only for the patrol but for
everyone at Mission Ridge.
we start with ...Awareness
Whether its knowing the Code of Conduct about how we treat others enjoying the hill or learning about avalanche safety techniques, the patrol can help.
|
... Then comes ...Preparation
Each year the Mission Ridge Pro Patrol raises money for on-going education around mountain safety, including avalanche risk mitigation.
|
... And alwaysApplication
The volunteer patrol raises money to pay for backboards, medical supplies, evacuation toboggans and more, applying what's been learned.
